SurgeTK has three plans: Free, Pro, and Enterprise. Billing lives inside SurgeTK on Settings › Billing. Only Admins can see it.
Plans
Plan | Price shown in the app | Seats | What it includes |
Free | $0 | 1 advisor and 2 non-advisors | Buckets, Guardrails, Roth Conversion Letter, and One Page Plan. Households, imports, CRM integrations, and Reports exports. Surge packet builds are not included. |
Pro | $95 per advisor seat per month, billed monthly. An Annual option is offered with the label "Save 10%". | Each seat gives 1 advisor and 2 non-advisors | Everything in Free, plus Beneficiary, Net Worth, Homework, 1099, and Surge packet preparation. |
Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited | Everything in Pro. Click Contact Us to send an inquiry. |
Two-factor authentication and the sign-in activity list are available on every plan.
On the Free plan, preparing Surge packets is blocked and opens an upgrade prompt. Switching on a Pro Value Add opens the same kind of prompt.
There is no self-service trial. If your subscription shows a trial in progress, your firm has Pro features and Pro seat limits until the trial ends.
Where do I find billing?
Open Settings › Billing. You can also click your avatar in the top-right corner, then Upgrade to Pro. The tab has:
The plan cards, with a Monthly / Annual toggle. Your plan shows Current Plan.
Your Subscription: Current Plan, Seats, Billing Frequency, Billing Total, and Next Billing Date, with the buttons Upgrade / Change Plan and Cancel Subscription.
Payment Method: the card brand and last 4 digits, or "No card". Click Update Payment Method to enter a new card. "Your new card will be used for future billing."
Past Invoices: your 12 most recent paid invoices with date, invoice number, and amount. Click View to open the invoice on Stripe. Before the first payment it reads "No invoices found."
Checkout happens inside SurgeTK in a checkout drawer. Card details go straight to Stripe. SurgeTK never stores card numbers. It keeps only the card brand, the last 4 digits, the expiry date, the cardholder name, and the billing address.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
On the Billing tab, click Upgrade to Pro on the Pro card, or click Upgrade / Change Plan.
In the checkout drawer, choose the Billing cycle: Monthly or Annual.
Set the Number of seats. The helper text shows the minimum your team needs.
Choose the Payment method. If a card is on file you can pick Use card on file or Use a different card.
Check the Billing email. "Receipts will be sent to this address".
If you have a promo code, enter it and click Apply.
Check the Order summary. It shows Due today and the next charge date.
Click Subscribe.
New firms can also pick a plan during onboarding. On the Free plan, adding a card is optional.
How do I change seats or the billing cycle?
Click Upgrade / Change Plan. The drawer shows your Current plan and the new total.
The number of seats can never be lower than your team needs: at least 1, one seat per advisor, and one seat for every 2 non-advisors. If you go lower, the message starts with "You have" and ends with "Please remove or adjust team members before downgrading."
Seat and cycle changes are prorated. The summary shows Credit for unused time and Prorated upgrade charge. The difference is invoiced right away.
If nothing changed, the summary reads "No changes to your current plan".
If a payment is past due, add a payment method first. Otherwise you see "Your subscription is past due and needs a default payment method before plan changes. Update your payment method, then try again."
Choosing a new plan while a cancellation is scheduled reactivates the subscription.
How do I cancel my Pro plan?
Click Cancel Subscription under Your Subscription, or Downgrade on the Free card.
The drawer shows "Before you go..." and "You're about to downgrade from Pro to the Free plan." with the list "What you'll lose access to:" and the note "Your Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period."
Click Confirm downgrade. To stop, click Keep my Pro plan.
You see "Plan updated" and "Your plan changes on" followed by the end date.
Cancellation is blocked until your team fits the Free plan (1 advisor and 2 non-advisors). The message is "You have more members than the Free tier allows. Remove or adjust team members first." Remove people on Team Members, then try again.
Your Pro plan stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. If a multi-month promo discount is still running, the plan ends when the discount ends instead.
Until then, the Billing tab shows the banner "Your plan ends on" with the date and a Reactivate button. Click it to undo the cancellation. In the meantime the Cancel Subscription button reads Cancellation Scheduled.
What happens when a Pro plan ends or a payment fails?
Important: when the paid period ends, the firm does not go back to a working Free plan. The same happens as soon as a payment is past due. SurgeTK checks this when people sign in.
Non-admins are blocked at sign-in. They see "Inactive Subscription" with the text "Your firm's subscription is currently canceled or past due. Please contact an Admin to reactivate the account."
Admins land on a page titled "Restore Your Access" with the text "Your subscription is inactive. Complete the form below to reactivate your Pro plan." The page shows the checkout form. Subscribing to Pro again restores access for everyone.
That page also shows "Subscription Canceled: Your plan is canceled. You must update payment or choose a new plan to restore service." or "Past Due: Please update your payment method or choose a plan to avoid losing access."
An Admin who is still signed in sees a banner on the Billing tab instead: "Your firm's subscription is past due. Please update your payment method to avoid service interruption." with Update Payment Method, or "Your firm's subscription has been canceled. Choose a plan below to resubscribe."
People who are already signed in keep their session until they sign out or it expires.
Cancelling does not delete your firm's data.
Enterprise
Click Contact Us on the Enterprise card. The Enterprise Inquiry form asks for Firm name, Contact email, Number of advisors, Total team size, AUM range, Households managed, Primary CRM, and a Message. You see "Inquiry submitted" when it is sent. The checkout drawer cannot switch a firm to Enterprise: "Enterprise tier requires contacting sales."
How do I close my firm?
There is no self-service way to delete a firm or an account. Contact [email protected].
